About Us
PURPOSE:
The 3rd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery (Long Range Fires Battalion) is the 56th Theater Multi-Domain Command’s lethal arm that conducts episodic deployments in support of U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) strategic objectives. Headquartered at Fort Drum, New York, the battalion of 500+ Soldiers employs High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and Mid-Range Capability (MRC) systems to conduct operational preparation of the environment and deliver precision kinetic long‑range fires across the full spectrum of multi-domain operations.

FOCUS:
3-12 FA LRFB provides the supported commander with lethal, long‑range precision fires across all domains. It trains to operate in diverse environments, employing HIMARS and MRC systems to deter, discourage & dissuade U.S. and NATO adversaries while maintaining readiness and lethality across Europe and Africa.

IMPACT:
As USAREUR‑AF’s primary kinetic long‑range precision fires unit, 3‑12 FA LRFB extends U.S. operational reach and lethality, reinforces commitments to NATO allies, and contributes to deterrence and regional stability.
