Dynamic Front

The next iteration of exercise Dynamic Front takes place from Nov. 4-24, 2024 in Finland, Estonia, Germany, Poland, and Romania. It demonstrates NATO’s ability to share fire missions, target information, and operational graphics from the Arctic to the Black Sea.
The exercise increases the lethality of the Alliance through long-distance fires, builds unit readiness in a complex joint, multi-national environment, and leverages host nation capabilities to increase USARUER-AF’s operational reach. Dynamic Front is planned to include more than 1,800 U.S. and 3,700 multi-national service members from 28 Allied and partner nations.

Retired Gen. Timothy M. Ray, former Air Force Global Strike Command commander, was recognized and honored with his own sword on May 11th, 2022, at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The Order of the Sword is an honor awarded by non-commissioned officers of a command to recognize individuals they hold in high esteem and for their contributions to the enlisted corps. The ceremonial presentation was adopted from the Royal Order of the Sword from Sweden, in 1748. The tradition was passed to the United States during the Revolutionary War. However, it has laid dormant until it was reinstitute in its current form in 1967.
