Dynamic Front

The next iteration of exercise Dynamic Front takes place from Nov. 4-24, 2024 in Finland, Estonia, Germany, Poland, and Romania. It demonstrates NATO’s ability to share fire missions, target information, and operational graphics from the Arctic to the Black Sea.
The exercise increases the lethality of the Alliance through long-distance fires, builds unit readiness in a complex joint, multi-national environment, and leverages host nation capabilities to increase USARUER-AF’s operational reach. Dynamic Front is planned to include more than 1,800 U.S. and 3,700 multi-national service members from 28 Allied and partner nations.

3-82nd conducts air assault operations in Estonia

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Brigade conduct a day and night air assault operation in support of Swift Response 21 at the Tapa Central Training Area, Estonia, May 8, 2021. Swift Response 21 is a linked exercise of DEFENDER-Europe 21, which involves special operations activities, air assaults, and live fire exercises in Estonia, Bulgaria, and Romania, demonstrating airborne interoperability among NATO allies. DEFENDER-Europe 21 is a large-scale U.S. Army-led exercise designed to build readiness and interoperability between the U.S., NATO allies and partner militaries. This year, more than 28,000 multinational forces from 26 nations will conduct nearly simultaneous operations across more than 30 training areas in more than a dozen countries from the Baltics to the strategically important Balkans and Black Sea Region.
